CERTIFICATION FOR THE TAKEN (2011)

How was the certification produced?

The certification that is seen at the beginning of a film trailer is created to show the rating of the film and that it is suitable for the viewing of the public. The template was discovered by searching 'bffc film certification' into a search engine. The image was then saved and edited in Adobe photoshop, where a clone tool was used to black out the name of a previous film and 'The taken' was layered in its place. This gives the trailer a more official and professional standard.

By certificating the trailer/film as an eighteen gives the film the reputation of being 'too scary for young teenagers', giving the exclusive viewing to adults only. This also gives the film a more mature perspective because the audience knows that it is not a young teenagers film.

Horror films were often the culprits for depicting graphic violence and this often results in a lot of grief to the viewing audience. Therefore, they must remove the offending scenes before giving it a certificate. With the advent of videotape, this meant that any film that was cut in the cinemas could be released uncut on video. This had led to a moral panic concerning "video nasties" as coined by tabloid newspapers.(Source Wikipedia)

FONT IDEAS: for the magazine title

After feedback from several people, the 3rd, 5th and 6th got chosen as the best fonts. The majority chose the 6th, 'LionKingFont', with a close second at 'astigma'. A decision is yet to be made on which font will be successful on the magazine

FEEDBACK

After asking a range of people, mixed reviews revealed that there was a possible area of change on the poster photograph. We got feedback that the clown could be more saturated, and other opinions that the brightness of the clown was the best part. After many edits of the picture we had three possible outcomes. Much deliberation later, and some help from the graphic designer and we decided that, for now, unless we change our minds, the original, colorful clown version will be the one used in the poster. See video blog for a in-depth review of the situation...

We edited the poster image to give the girl a red eye, we then asked 10 people which they thought looked best. Here is the new image:

Photobucket

8/10 people said that they preferred the image without the red eye, and so we will keep it as it was
